Governor announces Rs one lakh compensation

Bangalore, Dec 12 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today announced a compensation of Rs one lakh each to the family of those killed in a building collapse in the city last night.

The injured would receive Rs 25,000, an official release here said.

The toll rose to eight with three more persons succumbing to injuries at Government Bowring Hospital.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Mallikarjuna Kharge visited the mishap site and consoled the bereaved families. The KPCC also announced a solatium of Rs 10,000 to the family of those killed and Rs 5,000 to the injured.
