Four Envoys present credentials to President

New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) President Pratibha Patil today emphasised the need of people-to-people contact for enhancing understanding of each others cultures and generating goodwill among countries.

The President made this observation while receiving credentials from four new envoys from Israel, Colombia, the Netherlands and Japan to India at a simple ceremony in the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The ambassadors were Mr Mark Sofer (Israel), Mr Juan Alfredo Pinto Saavedra (Colombia), Mr Bob H Hiensch (the Netherlands) and Mr Hideaki Domichi (Japan).

She reiterated India's commitment to the promotion of peace and prosperity in the world and building friendly relations with all countries.
