Banswara, Dec 12 (UNI) A joint forum of NGOs working in Rajasthan today launched 'dharna' outside the Banswara district collectorate here demanding information for conducting social audit on implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

An agitating outfit's spokesman said the authorities had earlier turned down the demand of jointly holding, a social audit and now they were denying the request for supply of requisite information to the forum ''Rozgar and Suchana Ka Adhikar Abhiyan''for holding social audit.

He said this was violation of the Right To Information Act(RTI) and therefore, the dharna would continue till the supply of requisite information.

A large number of social activists from Gujarat, MP and different parts of Rajasthan were participating in the dharna.

Meanwhile, state Panchayati Raj Minister Kalu Lal Gurjar has denied allegations of violation of the Act and said that these NGOs were working with biased mind set against the government.

Mr Gurjar said the state government was ready for social audit and social audit manchs were being constituted for the purpose.

The members in these manchs were to be nominated by the gram sabha of the village, the minister said.
