AIADMK stages demonstration, demands MSP for paddy

Karaikal, Dec 12 (UNI) Volunteers of the AIADMK today staged a demonstration before the Karaikal Collectorate here demanding the Centre to announce Rs 1,000 as Minimum Support Price (MSP) per quintal of paddy.

Mr Anbazhagan, who led the stir, strongly criticised the DMK in the Union territory for not taking up issues pertaining to farmers and functioning as a supplimentary party to the Congress.

He urged the territorial Administration to provide interim relief to the farmers till the Centre enhanced the MSP for paddy.

If the government failed to provide relief, the AIADMK would organise massive agitations and prevent ministers from entering the Assembly during the next session, he warned.
