55-60 pc voter turnout in Khargone, Sanver bypolls in MP
Bhopal, Dec 12 (UNI) More than 55 per cent of the electorate today exercised their franchise in the by-election in Khargone Lok Sabha constituency, while above 60 per cent of the voters cast their votes in Sanver Assembly constituency in western Madhya Pradesh, official sources said.
Polling, which started on a dull note due to inclement weather, gained momentum as the day progressed, Election office said, adding that apart from stray incidents, polling was by and large peaceful.
More than 55 per cent of the 12,91,572 electorate in Khargone and above 60 per cent of the 1,71,833 electorate in Sanver today exercised their franchise, the Election office said.
Eleven candidates each were in the fray in both constituencies.
