19th generation descedent of Sai Hazrat Mian Mir calls on CM

Chandigarh, Dec 11 (UNI) Sai Makhdoom Syed Chan Pir Qadri, the 19th generation descendent of Sai Hazrat Mian Mir Ji who laid the foundation stone of Sri Harimandir Sahib, today called on Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal at his residence to show the rare glimpse of the belongings of Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji, including Guruji's Simrana (Mala) and Necklace of Mata Ganga ji, which he has brought from Pakistan.

During an interaction with the Chief Minister, Mr Syed Chan Pir Qadri urged Mr Badal for opening a visa office at Amritsar and declaring the area of one Km radius within the Harimandir Sahib as 'holy zone' thereby banning the meat, wine and tobacco shops.

Mr Badal assured Mr Qadri that he would soon take up the matter with Ministry of External Affairs for opening of the local visa office at Amrtisar to facilitate the pilgrims from Amritsar and Lahore to visit holy shrines in Pakistan and India.
