Suzuki to make India a production hub for exports

New Delhi, Dec 11 (UNI) Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp today said it will export cars manufactured in India and make the country a production hub for its global operations.

We plan to export cars from India to Europe which will be our main market for exports, as well as globally, said company chief executive Osamu Suzuki.

Suzuki which owns 54.2 per cent in Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, is to announce its plans for its 'world car' later today. The car is expected to be manufactured in Maruti's Manesar plant.

Maruti Suzuki had recently announced a plan to spend 100 billion yen to beef up its research and development.

Suzuki Motor's now aims to receive about 70 per cent of its global revenue from outside Japan this year.
