'Shanthi Yatra' against 'rights violations' launched

Kannur, Dec 11: Union Parliamentary Affairs and Information Minister P R Dasmunsi on Monday inaugurated the 'Shanthi Yatra' organised by the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee against 'denial of democratic rights of the people'' by the Left Democratic Front Government.

Addressing a gathering at Payyannur near here, he said the members of the DYFI and the SFI should ''learn a lesson from the Congress which values democracy.'' He said the CPI (M) should change its attitude towards the Congress which fought against imperialism, colonialism and implemented land reforms.

Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly Oommen Chandy and PCC president Ramesh Chennithala participated in the function.
