Hyderabad, Dec 11: City-based Satyam Computer Services Ltd today announced setting up of a Japan Centre of Excellence (COE), code-named Kanzen, to significantly strengthen its presence in the country.
The announcement was made on the sidelines of the inauguration of an Offshore Development Centre for Japanese group Inoac Corporation by leading management exponent from Japan and CTO of Inoac, Mr Kiichiro Ohya.
Satyam has already commenced training for Japanese engineering graduates in India, building the bilingual talent pool in India and China and setting up of delivery centres at China, Pune and Fukouka in Japan.
In a statement, North Asia Satyam Computer Services Ltd Head Harsh Vardhan said, ''this initiative is an innovation to traditional models of delivering offshore value to Japan from India.
''While some of the large Indian companies, who were working towards higher investments to increase focus on Japan, that alone might not be the solution to the problem, as India has an acute shortage of bilingual engineers,'' Mr Vardhan said.
