Railway carried more freight during November, 2007

New Delhi, Dec 11 (UNI) The Indian Railways have carried 501.46 Million Tonnes (MT) of revenue earning freight traffic during the first eight months from April to November 2007 of the current financial year 2007-08.

The freight carried shows an increase of 37.07 MT over the freight traffic of 464.39 MT actually carried during the corresponding period last year, reflecting an increase of 7.98 per cent.

During November 2007, the revenue earning freight traffic carried by Indian Railways was 65.75 million tonnes. There was an increase of 4.69 MT over the freight traffic of 61.06 MT actually carried by the Indian Railways during the same period last year, reflecting an increase of 7.68 per cent.
