Hyderabad, Dec 11 (UNI) The English and Foreign Languages (EFL) University has constituted an inquiry committee to probe into the 'fake job racket' allegedly involving Centre for German Studies Reader Dagar and Offest Machine Operator V Govardhan, University Vice-Chancellor Abhai Maurya said today.

Addressing mediapersons here, Mr Maurya said Govardhan was suspended and a showcause notice issued to Dr Dagar in connection with the case. A three-member inquiry committee was also constituted to probe into the case.

The first allegation against the two was that job interviews were conducted under the guidance of Dr Dagar, who acted as the appointing authority, by taking huge sums of money from the candidates.

The second allegation was that Dr Dagar's residence on the university campus had become a den of illegal activities with Govardhan's involvement.

Stating several irregularities had taken place in the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL) before it was upgraded into a Central university, he said four inquiry committees were constituted to probe into the irregularities regarding the construction of academic building at Shillong Campus, selection of teachers during CIEFL administration and functioning of library during 2003-2004.
