Polling for Khargone, Sanver bypolls in MP tomorrow

Bhopal, Dec 11 (UNI) Polling for the byelection to Khargone Lok Sabha and Sanver Assembly constituencies in western Madhya Pradesh will be held tomorrow amid tight security.

Polling parties have already reached the booths, where security personnel have been deployed to ensure free and fair election, official sources said today.

In both the constituencies, the main contest is between the BJP and the Congress, while presence of Bhartiya Janshakti candidate made it a triangular contest. 11 candidates each are in the fray.

Khargone seat fell vacant following disqualification of Mr Krishna Murari Moghe (BJP) on the office of profit issue, while state BJP minister Prakash Sonkar's death caused the bypoll in Sanver in Indore district.

Mr Moghe is again in the fray in Khargone, where MPCC chief Subhash Yadav's son Arun Yadav is a Congress nominee, along with Sanjay Jhanwar of BJ. 12.91 lakh electorate are scheduled to exercise their franchise in 1262 booths, including 250 declared as sensitive.

In the Sanver constituency, Tulsi Silawat (Cong), Santosh Malaviya(BJP) and Ranjit Sonkar (BJ) are prominent contestants.

Nearly 1.75 lakh electorate will exercise their franchise in 187 booths.
