NITK to hold conference on harbour and ocean engineering

Mangalore, Dec 11 (UNI) National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) Suratkal and New Mangalore Port Trust will conduct a two-day national conference on harbour and ocean engineering here from tomorrow.

The main objective of the conference is to focus on the latest achievements in harbour and ocean engineering, NITK Director Sandeep Sancheti told reporters here today.

The conference will provide a platform for discussion on the problems and solutions and recommend the guidelines on critical aspects to planners and decision makers, he said.

As many as 150 delegates from different parts of India and some delegates from Canada, Japan, Korea and New Zealand are attending the conference, he added.
