HRPF felicitated seven NGOs working for child welfare
Mumbai, Dec 11 (UNI) Human Rights Protection Force (HRPF), an NGO working for human rights in India, has felicitated seven other NGOs and people working for physically challenged and deprived children.
Commemorating human rights day yesterday, the organisation praised their special contribution for working against child labour and helping children, who are physically challenged and deprived, HRPF said in a release.
More than 2,458 people have been arrested for employing children, informed Child Welfare Mumbai Megistrate Santosh Shinde. Mr Shinde added there are many people, who still employ children from states like Rajasthan for foot-wear industry, from Orissa for construction, and children from West Bengal to work in the gold industry.
Similarly, Jagdish Savla, who works for deaf and dumb children at Gandhi Ghar in Gujarat, said the government needs to do more for the development of the physically challenged children as in many cases the parents of these children abandon them because of poverty.
