GPCC chief demands CBI probe into scandal

Vadodara, Dec 11 (UNI) Beleaguered Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee President Bharatsinh Solanki today demanded a CBI probe into a mysterious sex-on-cd scandal, in which he was allegedly involved.

''It is a well-planned conspiracy against me to tarnish my political career and credibility,'' Solanki said and charged Chief Minister Narendra Modi with having hatched this conspiracy to remain in power.

The CD which was circulated to selected mediapersons on the eve of the first phase of polling in Gujarat, reportedly showed the state Congress President in a compromising position with an unidentified girl.

Claiming that the CD was morphed, Solanki who accompanied Prime minister Manmohan Singh during his election campaign in Vadodara today, said, ''I am ready to face any inquiry on the sex-on-cd issue.

Coming down heavily on Modi for involving him in a fake sex CD, Solanki said he was apprehending some mischief by Modi before the polling for political mileage. Hence, he was not surprised by this attempt of his opponent.

Demanding a CBI probe into the sex CD, Solanki said he would also move a petition before the Election Commission seeking an inquiry.
