Forest official suspended over report on land to ISRO

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 11 (UNI) A forest official, who had reported that the land provided for ISRO's Space Institute was ecologically fragile and a forest land, was today suspended from service.

Former Thiruvananthapuram DFO Balakrishna Pillai was suspended following an inquiry by Chief Conservator of Forests (Vigilance).

It is also reported that Mr Pillai leaked the report to the media.

Last month he was transferred from his official post as DFO after he reported that the land identified by the Revenue Department was ecologically fragile land vested with the Forest Department.
