Kannur, Dec 11 (UNI) Forward Bloc today threatened to withdraw its support to the United Progressive Alliance Government, if the Centre proceeded with the 123 Nuclear deal.

Talking to newspersons here, Forward Bloc National Secretary G Devarajan alleged that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would like to endorse the agreement, as he has some commitments to the United States.

Stating that Left parties were supporting the UPA Government on the basis of a Common Minimum Programme, Mr Devarajan said the Left should not act as per the whims and fancies of the Congress.

Criticising the UPA Government for its anti-poor policies, he alleged that the Centre had not done anything for the poor and downtrodden.

On the Nandigram issue, the FB leader, lauded West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya's confession.

Mr Devarajan said the Coalition Governments have come to stay and gone were the days when single parties could capture power on their own. The Left parties have a major role to play in the present coalition-era, he added.
