CPI(M) Tripura committee meeting to start today

Agartala, Dec 11 (UNI) The Tripura committee of the CPI(M) is scheduled to hold a two-day meeting, beginning today, to formulate the election strategy and finalise the list of candidates in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Party sources said the election strategy had been discussed at length in the just concluded Politburo meeting in New Delhi, which was also attended by Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.

The sources also indicated that the state government wanted to hold the elections in mid-February and it had been communicated to the Election Commission of India (ECI).
