SC dismisses bail application of doc having links with Maoists

New Delhi, Dec 10 (UNI) The Supreme Court today dismissed the bail application of a doctor from Chhattisgarh facing allegations of having close links with Maoists and naxalites.

A bench comprising Justices Ashok Bhan and D K Jain found the case not fit for grant of bail.

The petitioner Dr Binayak Sen in his petition has alleged that he has been forcibly implicated by Bilaspur police and has been in jail since May 14, 2007.

Vinayak is a close associate of Maoists idealogue Narayan Sanyal and has been acting as a conduit for naxalites.

His activities were dangerous for peace and tranquility in the state.
