Haryana directs DCs for monitoring model village scheme

Chandigarh, Dec 10 (UNI) The Haryana government has issued guidelines to the deputy commissioners concerned for monitoring the all-round developmental works being carried out in model villages in the state.

While stating this here today, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dharambir Singh said that to monitor the progress of implementation of model village scheme in their respective jurisdiction, the deputy commissioners concerned would formally constitute a district level committee.

He said that a monthly review of the progress would be made by this committee on the day of monthly officer's board meeting in each district and would submit their monthly progress reports to the Director, Panchayats by 10th of each month.

For proper implementation of the scheme, a development plan in respect of each model village would also be prepared by the additional deputy commissioners in consultation with the other line departments.

Under the model village scheme the identified villages would be developed by coordinated efforts of all the departments of the state government, he added.

Mr Dharambir Singh said that as many as 85 villages of the state were being developed as model villages.

He said that for all-round development of these villages, facilities of public health and education would be provided. The streets and house numbers would be marked in these villages for easy identification. Besides, other facilities like paved streets, sanitation, power, water and drainage would also be provided, he added.
