Congress refutes Paswan's claim over steel plant in HP

Shimla, Dec 10 (UNI) The Congress today refuted Union Minister for Chemical and Fertilizers Ram Vilas Paswan's claim that it had received any proposal from the central government for setting up of a steel plant in the state.

Addressing mediapersons here, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) general secretary Kuldeep Singh Rathore said the state had not yet received any proposal for the setting up of a steel plant in Nahan area of Sirmaur district of the state.

''However, the state government will consider any such proposal in future,'' he added.

Refuting statements by BJP leaders that incidents of terrorism were rising in the country during the UPA Government's tenure, he said the BJP was making ''false and unsubstantiated statements''.

The truth is that incidents of terrorism increased and reached a feverish pitch during the previous NDA Government's period, he added.
