Centre mulling health cover to all: Antony

Kollam, Kerala, Dec 10 (UNI) The Union Government proposes to evolve a scheme to provide health insurance cover to all, Defence Minister A K Antony said.

The Minister informed this during a function here after inaugurating the ESI Super Speciality Hospital.

In his address, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Oscar Fernandes said three new welfare schemes -- medical insurance, senior citizen pension and rehabilitation of children rescued from child labour -- would be launched on April one to cover unorganised sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi stressed on the need for including in the ESI scheme employees in unorganised sectors like coir, beedi and handloom.
