Tribal woman hacked to death on suspicious practising sorcery

Baripada, Dec 9 (UNI) A tribal woman, suspected to be practising sorcery, was hacked to death in Mandaljhauri village under Mahuldiha police station limits of Mayurbhanj district, 95 km from here.

Police today said that a 40-year-old-woman was hacked to death with a sharp weapon during late hours of Friday night.

Her husband, a 55-year-old man, who was asleep in the same room, was also hurt with the weapon, sources added.

The tribal man was admitted to the Community Health Centre at Thakurmunda with serious injuries, police added.

Two suspected killers Manbir Singh Ho and Kusu Kisku had been arrested and the weapons used in the crime seized, police informed.
