Tribal woman hacked to death on suspicion of sorcery

Baripada, Dec 9 (UNI) A tribal woman, suspected to be practising sorcery, was hacked to death in Mandaljhauri village under Mahuldiha police station limits of Mayurbhanj district, 95 km from here, police said today.

The 40-year-old- woman was hacked to death with a sharp weapon on late Friday night, the police added.

Her husband, a 55-year-old man, who was asleep in the same room, was also hurt with the weapon, the sources added.

The tribal man was admitted to the Community Health Centre at Thakurmunda with serious injuries, the police said.

Two suspected killers, Manbir Singh Ho and Kusu Kisku, had been arrested and the weapons used in the crime seized, the police said.
