TN celebrates Sonia's birthday with special prayers in temples

Tiruchirapalli, Dec 9 (UNI) Special prayers were offered in all temples in different parts of this district today on the 61st birthday of United Progressive Alliance Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

Inian Sampath, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee General Secretary and the Urban District Congress President Jerome Arokyaraj presented gold rings to five female infants at Government Headquarters Hospital here to mark the occasion.

Rajasekharan, MLA and Rural District Congress President distributed saris and dhotis in the district party headquarters here.

Sweets and biscuits were also distributed to the visitors of the hospital.
