Preps over for police championship
Bhopal, Dec 9 (UNI) Preparations are complete for the 7th All-India Police Water Sports Championship that is to get underway tomorrow at the Water Sports Centre, beside the Upper Lake here, and witness participation by 18 teams including last year's champions Jammu and Kashmir Police.
About 300 sportspersons have reached this City of Lakes and are vigorously readying themselves.
''Twenty-six golds, as many silvers and bronzes are at stake in kayaking, canoeing and rowing events. The championship will be inaugurated by state Director-General of Police A R Pawar,'' said Inspector-General (Bhopal Range) Anil Kumar who chairs the organising committee.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would distribute prizes on December 14.
