Police Inspector commits suicide in Patan

Palanpur, Dec 8 (UNI) A police inspector of the Local Investigation Branch (LIB) at Patan committed suicide in his office today, allegedly by shooting himself with his service revolver.

The police have identified the deceased as Vabang Zamir Chavda.

According to the police, the incident occurred at around 1700 hrs.

The Inspector moved to the adjacent conference room and allegedly fired two rounds on his chest, critically injuring himself.

On hearing the gun shots, an official on duty rushed to the room and found Chavda lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a private hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.

He was depressed for some time as he was a diabetic, sources added.
