LTTE cadre, two others held near airport

Chennai, Dec 9 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Q branch police have arrested an LTTE cadre and two others, who allegedly attempted to procure a boat for the banned outfit.

The police arrested them near the car parking area of the international airport here.

According to a Q branch release today, police also seized computer accessories, swimming suits, a GPS instrument and Indian currency worth Rs 4.78 lakh from them.

A boat, kept ready at coastal Mallipattinam in Thanjavur district to be sent to the LTTE, had also been seized, the release added.

The cadre was identified as Jayakumar (34) of Velvettithurai in Jaffna and his accomplices as James alias Raja (46) from Mannar Chinnakadai Sri Lanka and Ravi Kumar (42) a resident of Subbarayan Nagar in Choolaimedu here, the release added.
