New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) Fusion of eastern and western music took listeners by storm at the launch of an album titled 'Punkh' here.

'Punkh,' an EMI India release, casts Deepak Nair, also known as Dean, as its lead singer. German musician Carsten Peter is another vocalist(rapper) of the album.

'Punkh,'meaning wings, is the title of the album since it signifies the assailing of newer heights, said Dean last night.

The album has in total 11 tracks with 'Punkh punkh' as its title track. The album also includes a remix of 'Punjabi Na Aawe' taken from 'Punkh' by famous DJ Suketu. Some of its other numbers are 'Naach', 'Maya' and 'Daddy.' The lead singer Dean, a German university graduate in Jazz and Pop music, is also the song writer for the tracks.

''The album is a product of two years and good mix of eastern and western,'' said Dean.

On being asked about the response to the album especially among the youngsters, the target listeners of the album, he asserted, ''Sucess is subjective and comes in step by step.'' Crowds went wild when Dean performed live singing his own numbers from his new venture after launching the album.

''Music is passing through a change and considering the popularity of Pop music, his tracks would be popular among youngsters,'' opined a listener dancing to the tunes of the songs.
