Dumper case: Congress alleges conspiracy

Bhopal, Dec 9 (UNI) Expressing surprise over the Income Tax Department's alleged clean chit to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his wife Sadhana Singh in the controversial dumper purchase case, Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly, Jamuna Devi today alleged that it was the state government's conspiracy.

''All the talks about the clean chit is confusing and wrong,'' she said in a statement here Ms Devi also accused Mr Chouhan of misusing official machinery in bypolls to the Khargone Lok Sabha seat and Sanver assembly seat besides indulging in propaganda.

The Congress leader had written to the Commissioner, Income Tax, urging the official to apprise her of the status of investigation besides providing copies of the Chouhan couple's statements and the probe report.
