Burglars steal jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh in Panaji

Panaji, Dec 9 (UNI) Burglers robbed the house of former Inspector General of Police, Prabhakar Sinari, in posh Miramar area last night and fled with gold jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh, police said today.

Mr Sinari and his family was away in Australia when the incident occurred. The police were yet to identify the criminals, they said.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (crime) Ujjwal Mishra said the available police force was concentrated at Dona Paula to protect the works at the Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat project from miscreants who resorted to vandalism on Thursday night.
