TRS leader clarifies stand on Nizam rule

Hyderabad, Dec 8 (UNI) Senior Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leader N Narasimha Reddy today maintained that the Nizam rule was marked by communal harmony in the erstwhile Hyderabad state' comprising parts of the present-day Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka.

But the party vehemently condemned the atrocities committed by the Razaakars before the merger of the princely state of Hyderabad with the Indian Union, he told reporters here.

Even Mahatma Gandhi had praised the Nizam for maintaining Hindu-Muslim unity, he claimed.

Making it clear that TRS was not against the Telangana armed struggle, the former minister asked the CPI not to distort facts.
