Renovation of refugee camps in TN proposed

Karur, Dec 8: The Tamil Nadu Government has sent a proposal to the Centre for taking up renovation works of all the 117 refugee camps in the state at a cost of Rs 47 lakh.

Addressing the inmates of the Sri Lankan Tamils' refugee camp at Rayanur near here yesterday, State Refugee Welfare Commissioner Karpoorasundara Pandiyan said the state government was waiting for the Centre's approval to shift the camp at Rayanur to a more convenient place.
