Jaipur, Dec 8 (UNI) Disputing the Rajasthan government's charge of failing to successfuly hold the non-Resident Rajasthani industrialists' meet during his regime, AICC General Secretary and former chief minister Ashok Gehlot today said it was rather the Vasundhara Raje government which was making false claims about the success of the recent Resurgent Rajasthan investors meet.

Talking to UNI over telephone, Mr Gehlot said the non-resident Rajasthani industrialists and investors meet, held during his government's regime, was not an investment-oriented event but a bid to strengthen the emotional bonds of the migrated Rajasthanis to their nativeland.

He said neither the Rajasthan Government had expected any investment from the participants nor any of them made any adverse remark over the prevailing state of industrial infrastructure in the state. Mr Gehlot said he had himself in his speech made clear his government's intention behind the meet.

Despite this, investment to the tune of Rs 50,000 was made in Rajasthan during his regime after the meet.

Contrary to this, the Resurgent Rajasthan investment meet, organised by the present government, was misleading the people of the state by its false projection of development.

He reiterated that most of the memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed during the meet were ''false''.
