Publication of final electoral rolls postponed in TN

Tiruchirapalli, Dec 8 (UNI) The publication of final electoral rolls, scheduled for January 11, would be postponed in the state, Chief Electoral Officer Naresh Gupta said today.

Addressing a press conference here after holding a discussion on the on-going enrollment work with the officials concerned, Mr Gupta said the preparation of revised voter's list was in full swing in the state.

The issuance of Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) was almost complete in the state except in Chennai and Coimbatore.

The preparation of photo electoral rolls was 97 per cent complete and the remaining would be covered at the earliest, he added.
