Huge assets, 13 bank accounts of FCI official unearthed

New Delhi, Dec 8 (UNI) Huge assets and 13 bank accounts belonging to a manager of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) were unearthed in CBI raids in Chandigarh, a CBI spokesperson said.

The raids conducted yesterday at three residential premises unearthed three houses held by the manager jointly with his wife and other relatives besides a shop-cum-flat in Panchkula owned by him.

The raids were conducted following an FIR registered against the official.

The discovery of bank accounts also led to the revelation that he also owned a petrol pump in 'benami' name of his brother at Jalalabad, the spokesperson added.

The official was also allegedly involved in last year's FCI scam cases regarding the supply of poor quality rice at the rates of specified quality of rice.
