Hobos win Hornbill National Rock Contest

Kohima, Dec 08 (UNI) The 'Hobos' from Kolkata won the Hornbill National Rock Contest, 2007, in the Naga Heritage Village at Kisama yesterday. About 24 rock bands from across the country participated in the contest.

Meghalaya Higher Education and IT Minister R G Lyngdoh inaugurated the contest on Tuesday last.

The 'XTC' from Nagaland and 'Midnight Garden Factors' from Meghalaya were the first and second runners-up respectively.

'The Hobos' recieved a cheque of Rs four lakhs, while XTC got Rs 1.5 lakh and the Midnight Garden Factors received Rs one lakh as the prize money.
