Yamaha's R1, MT01 receives good response

Bangalore, Dec 7 (UNI) 'Yamaha Motors India' received overwhelming response for its recently launched two high-end flagship sports bike models R1 and MT01, Company's Business Head (South) Mr Rohit Kurien said today.

Speaking after launching the bikes for the Bangalore market, he said with the launch of two of its flagship models, Indian riders get a chance to experience true 'art of engineering' which lies at the heart of Yamaha's creation.

He said 'Yamaha India' was the first two wheeler company to introduce this genre of super sports and torque sports performance bikes in India and it had gained immense popularity in globally in successfully demonstrating the technology superiority worldwide.

''The introduction of these machines illustrates company's aim of enriching Indian bikers' riding experience and elevating the current biking paradigm'' he added.

Mr Kurien said the company was looking at refining the motor cycling culture in India by bringing in technologically advanced and visually appealing machines.

He said initially only in four cities, Bangalore, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Chennai, the high-end sports bikes which costs over Rs 10.5 lakh were being introduced.

He said the company's highly professional and world-class workshops would provide better service backup.

Company's Business Head (Planning) Sanjay Tripathi, who was also there at the press meet, said over 200 units were expected to roll out this year for which private sector ICICI bank has been roped-in for financing to help the customers.

''The company is committed to provide international quality and lifestyle attributes of Yamaha brand to Indian consumers'' he added.
