US Consul General launches "US electronic fair for India"

Mumbai, Dec 7 (UNI) The ''US electronic fair for India'' was launched by US Consul General Michael S Owen here today.

The event was kicked off with the premiere of specially produced documentary ''Studying in the US: An India perspective'' before the audience of students.

The documentary is part of the '' US Electronic Education Fair for India'' a multi-media campaign that is part of the US government effort to promote the US higher education opportunities to Indian students.

The Consul General said the US welcomes close to 84,000 Indian students currently studying in the US and urged the students community to pursue US as a destination for higher studies.

India is the leading country of origin for international students on American campuses. Each year, US educational foundation advisory centres in India, helps the US bound Indian students to select from more than four thousand accredited institutions of higher education.
