Tourism be developed into celebration of people: Minister

Pathanamthitta, Dec 7 (UNI) Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today said that tourism will be developed into a celebration of people.

Inaugurating the construction of Rs 6.25 crore Perumthenaruvi Tourism Project, he said tourism projects would benefit the local people by generating employment opportunities. Tourism would be democratised by involving workers and farmers, he added.

As part of 'My Village, Tourism Village' programme, all the 14 districts would be approved 10 projects each. Tourism clubs would be formed in all Higher Secondary Schools.

He said Pampa-Gavi Destination Tourism was under the consideration of the Government.
