Security beefed up at dams in Lalitpur district

Lalitpur, Dec 7 (UNI) In wake of the increasing terrorist activities in Uttar Pradesh, security at seven dams of this district have been tightened.

Hydro-electric projects of 45 and 30 megawatt are already underway at two of the dams -- Rajghat and Matateela-- respectively.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shafiq Ahmad today said, '' following the recent bomb blasts in Varanasi, Faizabad and Lucknow, the security at the dams here have been increased.'' Besides, intense checking of vehicles was being done.
