NLC employees kin resort to begging agitation

Cuddalore, Dec 7 (UNI) Family members of the employees of the Public Sector Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC), who died while in service, today resorted to a 'begging agitation', demanding employment on compassionate ground.

The family members, who had been fighting for employment for the last nine years, resorted to the novel agitation, by carrying begging bowls at the bus stand here, to press their demand.

The family members, who had formed a Federation, had earlier launched a number of agitations like taking out protest rally and hunger strike demanding employment.

Secretary of the Federation A S Kannan blamed the NLC Management for forcing them to beg. If NLC failed to provide employment, the family members would be forced to carry begging bowls permanently, he said.
