NABARD sanctions Rs 12.39 cr for projects in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 7(UNI) The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs 12.39 crore for various projects in Kerala from its Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF).

While Rs 10.26 crore has been sanctioned for construction of a fishing harbour at Thalai in Kannur district, the remaining amount of Rs 2.13 crore would be utilised for implementing six rural roads in Alappuzha, Kasaragod and Thiruvannthapuram, a release from NABARD here said.

During the current financial year, NABARD had so far sanctioned 243 projects with a total outlay of Rs 138.88 crore, involving RIDF loan of Rs 114.8 crore. With this, the cumulative sanction of assistance to the state government under the RIDF I-III had gone up to Rs 1,933.64 crore for 2,935 projects, the release added.
