Moderate intensity earthquake rocks Shillong

Shillong, Dec 7 (UNI) An earthquake of moderate intensity, measuring 5.0 on Richter Scale, rocked the city and its neighbouring areas at 1226 hrs today.

The Central Seisomological Observatory Centre here said the epicentre was located at latitude 23.5 degrees North and longitude 94.7 degrees East towards Myanmar region.

However, there was no immediate report of loss of lives and property from anywhere so far, the sources added.
