Life time achievement for personalities behind the screen

Guwahati, Dec 7 (UNI) Ras Behari Sinha and Benu Ram Neog, well-known personalities of Assamese cinema, will be presented with the life time achievement award for their contribution to the film industry.

Jeewan Ram Mungi Devi Goenka Public Charitable Trust today announced the names of the awardees, who were chosen by a jury consisting of eminent Assamese film-makers Kulada Bhattacharya, Dr Swantana Bardoloi, Manju Bora and Munin Baruah.

Sources from the trust informed that the award would be presented at a glittering function here on December 10 by Jahnu Baruah, the famous Assamese film director, who made his directorial debut in Bollywood with ''Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Maara''.

Ras Behari Sinha is a film editor and has been associated with the Assam film industry since 1954, whereas Benuram Neog is an assistant cameraman since 1970.

UNI
