Courier agent robbed of valuables worth Rs 30 lakhs

Ahmedabad, Dec 7 (UNI) A local courier agent was robbed of his jewellery, cash and valuables, worth about Rs 30 lakhs, by four unidentified people in Kalupur area of the city today.

According to police, Labhubhai Desai (32) was robbed while he was going to deliver goods in an autorickshaw near Bank of Baroda branch in Kalupur area the police said four miscreants, who arrived in a car, asked Labhubhai to stop his autorickshaw by posing as policemen. After checking his booty, the gang asked him to sit in their car and said he must be taken to the police station for further questioning and identification.

However, later they dropped him at Shahibaug, under the bridge and drove away with the valuables.

The police have registered a case of robbery and further investigations are on.
