Ballia bypoll: 2 files nomination

Ballia, Dec 7 (UNI) Two candidates today filed papers on the fourth day of filing nominations for the Ballia Lok Sabha by poll to be held on December 29.

The seat fell vacant after the death of former prime minister Chandrashekhar.

Assistant Election Commissioner Dr S N Singh said ''Shiv Lakhan Chauhan and Harish Kumar Tiwari have filed their nomation as Janvadi Party and Independent candidate respectively.'' Till now, three candidates have filed nomination, the last date for which is December 11.

Nomination papers would be scrutinised on December 12, while counting of votes will take place on January 2.
