Assam's students' groups appeal for peace

Guwahati, Dec 7 (UNI) Three students' organisations of Assam here today staged a joint demonstration appealing to all sections of the society to maintain peace and harmony in the wake of the recent unrest the state has witnessed.

The demonstration was participated in by All Assam Students' Union (AASU), All Assam Tea Tribe Students' Association (AATTSA) and All Adivasi Students' Association of Assam (AASAA) supporters and their top leadership.

The students' bodies urged all people to maintain peace and not allow anything to break the bond of age old cordial relation that existed between the different communities of the state.

They also supported the demand of six communities Koch-Rajbonshi, Ahom, Tea Tribes, Chutia, Moran and Mottock for inclusion in the Scheduled Tribe list.
