7 Ayyappan devotees killed as car hits lorry

Coimbatore, Dec 7 (UNI) Seven Ayyappan devotees, including two children, were killed and another two children seriously injured when the car in which they were travelling collided with a lorry at L and T Bypass Road on outskirts of the city today.

Police said the devotees hailed from Bangalore and were returning to their city after darshan at Sabarimala this morning.

The two injured, Boovan (14) and Asona (10), were admitted to a private hospital here while the others were killed on the spot, the police added.

The deceased were identified as Lokesh (32), Chennakesavalu (40), Narayanasamy (40) and his daughter Boovitha (10), Logesh Khanna (30), Maruthi (40) and his son Harish (14).
