UP IAS officer booked on corruption charges

Lucknow, Dec 5 (UNI) Corruption cases has been registered at the Gomtinagar police station against three persons including the former Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) vice-chairman BB Singh, a secretary rank IAS officer.

Mr Singh already under suspension in other corruption case is charged here for illegally transferring 'Nazul land'(government land) to UC Parikh, Managing Director of India Cooper Paper Mill and MM Arif, Managing Director of Arif Industries in his capacity as the vice-chairman of LDA, police said.

Investigations done by Additional Commissioner Lucknow, Balkishan Tirpathi has revealed that the Nazul land was put on 'free hold' by the former vice-chairman which led to the loss of crores of rupees to the state government.

Cases have also been registered against MM Arif and UC Parikh for their complicity in the fraud.
